Sofia Akther studia sociologia in Nuova Zelanda ed è appena tornata nel suo paese, il Bangladesh per fare una tesi sulla Grameen Bank. Questa banca, chiamata anche “la banca dei poveri” è nata dalle teorie del Premio Nobel per la pace Professor Muhammend Yunus ed è l’unica banca che presta soldi, senza richiedere garanzie, a gruppi organizzati di donne. Questo sistena conosciuto anche come “microcredito” ormai esportato in tutto il mondo,  ha lanciato una sfida contro l’intero sistema bancario mondiale. Oggi la Grameen Banck conta il 95% di clienti donne ed in Bangladesh, ha innescato un vero e proprio terremoto economico e culturale.

 

Sofia Akther is studying sociology in New Zealand and has just returned to his country, Bangladesh, to do a thesis on Grameen Bank. This bank, also called the “Bank of the Poor” was born from the theories of the Nobel Prize for Peace Muhammend Professor Yunus and is the only bank that lends money without requiring collateral to organized groups of women. This system also known as “micro-credit” now exported around the world, had launched a challenge against the entire global banking system. Today, the Grameen Bank has 95% of women clients and Bangladesh, has triggered a real earthquake economic and cultural..
