Beto BrantBeto Brant, born in Jundiaí, directed the film BELLY UP (1997) and FRIENDLY FIRE (1998), thus starting the collaboration with writer and screenwriter Marçal Aquino and the director and producer Renato Ciasca. Co-owner of DRAMA FILMES, he produced and directed THE TRESPASSER (2002), DELICATE CRIME (2005), STRAY DOG (2007), ACCORDING TO B.SCHIANBERG (2009) and I’D RECEIVE THE WORST NEWS FROM YOUR BEAUTIFUL LIPS (2012). In 2013, he takes part in a feature film made of several short films, all directed by different directors, called INVISIBLE WORLD, produced by the Sao Paulo International Film Festival and Gullane Filmes, in which he directed the KREUKO episode. In 2016, his documentary PITANGA participated in the 40th Sao Paulo Film Festival, where he received the critics’ award for the best Brazilian film. His main awards are BEST FILM – SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL (USA) in 2002 (THE TRESPASSER), BEST DIRECTOR – RIO FILM FESTIVAL in 2005 (DELICATE CRIME) and BEST FILM – HUELVA FILM FESTIVAL, Spain, in 2011 (I’D RECEIVE THE WORST NEWS FROM YOUR BEAUTIFUL LIPS ).
